Firmware is the software that is embedded in a hardware device: in this instance, an Imation Disc Stakka unit. Firmware updates can contain new functionality, enhancements to existing functionality, and fixes.

You can sign up for our notification service if you would like to receive an email letting you know when new firmware updates are available.

We strongly recommend that you always use the latest version of firmware, and that you have the same version of firmware on all of your Disc Stakka units.

Update Firmware for Windows

Check your Disc Stakka units to see what firmware version you are currently using. If you have multiple units, you may want to check more than one of them to ensure that they are all running the same firmware version.

1. Right-click the required Disc Stakka unit in Windows Explorer, and then click Properties.
    
2. Check the General tab to find the firmware version; then check the final four digits of the firmware version number against the following download:
    
   • Firmware Version 79 (2.6 MB, 14-Oct-2004)
      
   If the above download is newer (with a higher version number) than the version you are currently running, we recommend that you download it and install it on your computer.
    
3. Click the above Firmware link, and then select to Save the update file to your computer's desktop.
    
• If you have previously Run or Saved this version of the update, you do not need to download it again.
   
4. If the computer on which you save the update file is NOT connected to your Disc Stakka units, copy the file to the desktop of the computer that IS connected to your units.
    
5. Double-click the firmware update file on your computer's desktop to start the update process, and then follow the instructions to update each one of your Disc Stakka units.
    
   • Units need to be updated one at a time.
   • It takes approximately two minutes per unit to perform the update.
   • We strongly recommend that you update ALL units to the same firmware version.

Update Firmware for Mac

The process of updating firmware for Mac is integrated with OpdiTracker version 2.2 and higher.

OpdiTracker automatically displays a dialog whenever it detects a Disc Stakka that is using an old version of the firmware. Simply follow the instructions in this dialog to update your firmware to the latest version.

If you are using an older version of the OpdiTracker software, we recommend that you update it to the latest version to take advantage of this (and other) product enhancements. Free software updates are available from this web site:
